Assessing the impacts of ageing and natural resource extraction on carbon emissions: A proposed policy framework for European economies

Abstract Given the rise in ageing population and rising globalization, European nations are facing difficulties encountering climate action ascertaining energy security. For diffusing innovations curtailing natural resource extraction, with an objective of reducing carbon emissions, existing policy framework these might need a reorientation, there comes role study. This study recommends for exploring effect extraction age dependence on emissions top-5 countries (EU-5) period 1990–2017. By applying Second Generation Panel Modeling approach, empirical results indicate that associations globalization index, economic growth follow inverted U-shaped relationship, keeping Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis. Based findings study, multipronged Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) has been designed, through this framework, SDG 7, 13, thereafter 8 have evaluated. While three SDGs central focus also suggested way to evaluate several tangential SDGs.
